In 1913, Neils Bohr modified


Ruthterford's theory of the atom.


He saw the atom as a maniature


solar system with it's nucleus as


the sun and the electrons


whirling around it as the planets


that orbit around the sun.

I lke his theory because his explanation about atom is very understandtable. His atomic model is very unique compare to others.

Through out history, people have tried to find the ultimate substance of which matter is created. THALES MILETUS proposed that all things came from one prime material and that is water. EMPEDOCLE, a Greek philosopher ,proposed tha matter is made up of four elements, namely, earth, water, air, and fire. DEMOCRITUS, a famous Greek philosopher,developed the theory of atoms. He theorized that matter is made up of tiny invisible atoms ( in Greek,atomos means 'uncut'). Aristotle the most famous Greek philosopher, rejected Democritus's idea of the atomic nature of matter. He thought that matter could be subdivided in minute particles. He said that matter could be further and further with each piece becoming smaller and smaller without end.
